Wednesday, March 4th, 2026: Today, we celebrate the heroes behind the scenes who keep our schools running smoothly. Happy Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day!
From early mornings to late afternoons, our maintenance team works tirelessly to ensure our classrooms are clean, safe, and ready for learning. Whether it’s fixing, building, cleaning, or preparing for special events, they are always there with a smile and a solution.
Because of their hard work and dedication, our scholars and staff can focus on what matters most: teaching and learning.
Please join us in thanking our incredible maintenance team for everything they do to support our school community each and every day!

Monday, March 2nd, 2026: The Utica Academy of Science school community proudly joined schools across the country in celebrating Read Across America Day, a special day dedicated to inspiring a love of reading in students of all ages.
From exploring new genres to revisiting favorite classics, our students were reminded that reading opens the door to imagination, knowledge, and opportunity. Events like this reflect our continued commitment to literacy and academic excellence, helping our scholars build the strong foundation they need for lifelong success.
We encourage families to continue the celebration at home by setting aside time each day to read together, because every page turned is a step toward a brighter future.

Monday, February 16th, 2026: Please be reminded that the Syracuse Academy of Science Charter Schools will be on Winter Recess the week of February 16th through Friday, February 20th.

The Science Academies of New York has been informed by the New York State Education Department that we are required to make changes to student access for certain Google Additional Services. This directive comes from the Chief Privacy Officer at NYSED to ensure compliance with Ed Law 2-d, as Google is not able to sign a Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) for these additional services.
What’s Changing?
How Will This Affect Students?
What About Staff Accounts?
These changes are part of a statewide effort to ensure compliance with Ed Law 2-d and reinforce the district’s commitment to student data privacy and security. While we understand this may impact some aspects of classroom technology use, we are confident that these adjustments will have minimal disruption to student learning.
